The stallion VDL Cardento (Capitol I x Lord) is, with his rider Peter Erikson from Sweden, selected for the Olympic Games in Athene. Also Mac Kinley (Goodwill x Nimmerdor), ridden by Rolf - Goran Bengtsson is going to Athene with the Swedish team.

Also other countries have selected offspring by VDL stallions for the Olympics. The Chin Chin son Querly Chin is selected with his rider Christoff Barbeau for the team of Switserland. In Belgium is the Jus de Pommes son O de Pomme, ridden by Stanny van Paesschen,  selected for Athene.
