After a strong performance of the Silver Medal winning Dutch team in the London Late Night Show with Mart Smeets, Gerco, Jur, Maikel and Marc were honoured in a packed Holland Heineken House.

Presenter Humberto Tan handed a trofee to coach Rob Ehrens and then the riders came down the stairs one by one. All 10.000 hands of the 5.000 ‘Orange’ supporters present were in the air. NOC*NSF board member Tineke Bartels also honoured the grooms and the owners of the horses. After this she honoured the riders by putting a laurel on their heads. The uplifting music, smiling faces and a perfect dance of joy of the 4 riders and their coach made the party complete. The supporters party went on till almost dawn.
“I wouldn’t want to miss this for a thing” said Jur Vrieling, who was a bit taken by the enthusiasm of the orange crowd.
