OPGLABBEEK - Comthago VDL (Comme Il Faut x Carthago Z) is again showing great results in the sport. Under Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA), Comthago VDL managed to take third place in his first CSI2* competition over 1.45m in Opglabbeek (BEL). During this 1.45m debut, the combination stayed double clear and completed the jump-off in 34.07 seconds.
Also in the 1.40m, Comthago VDL and Zanotelli stayed clear and in this competition a fine sixth place was the result. Fam. W. Kochs, Eschweiler (GER) bred Comthago VDL, who will again be available for breeding at the VDL Stud in 2023 with fresh semen.
With Heureuse Nouvelle WH (Cardento x Indoctro x Chin Chin), Marlon Modolo Zanotelli put in a fantastic performance: the CSI2* Grand Prix over 1.45m was conquered with two clear rounds and the fastest time (33.63 sec), resulting in victory. Heureuse Nouvelle WH was bred by Joke Slechter (BEL).
Several Zirocco Blue offspring also started the year well in Opglabbeek.
In the 1.45m class, Elysium (Zirocco Blue x Coronado), ridden by Hans Dieter Dreher (GER) finished a handsome second. Elysium was bred by Manfred Tummes, Ruhr (GER).
Fliere Fluiter (Zirocco Blue x Animo) and Jack Ansems (NED) came fourth in this competition. J. van de Gevel (NED) bred Fliere Fluiter. A day earlier, this combination finished third in another 1.45m course.
Island VG (Zirocco Blue VDL x Indoctro), bred by J. van Gestel (NED) and ridden by Kim Emmen (NED), finished handsomely fifth in the 1.45m.
In the 1.40m it was Floor (Zirocco Blue VDL x Casantos) and Wim Vinckx (BEL) who took third place. Marcel Vinckx bred the 13-year-old Floor.
