​Son of Mattias (by Mattias) clinched the Wolden Cup 2026 championship title in commanding fashion

Yesterday saw the final of the De Wolden Cup for 4- and 5-year-old show jumpers. In the 4-year-old show jumper class, the stallion Son of Mattias (by Mattias) took to the arena with Jack Broek. The Mattias son, bred by H.J. Visscher, once again impressed the judges with his qualities, making him the day’s winner and overall champion.

Third place in the daily prize went to Siwyrusa H (by Baltic) and Lysanne Kruizinga. The Baltic daughter, bred by A.J. Hazenberg, scored 23.6 points. Fourth place went to Sissy, a Landino daughter bred by E. Agterhuis and ridden by Riëlke Roeland. Fifth place went to Sadeek, a Kallmar offspring bred by Memape Beheer and ridden by Jaimy-lee Rutze. Finally, sixth place went to Zinelord Siviva, bred by A. van de Hoff, and Jayden Woering.

In the overall competition, the following VDL offspring also scored highly:
  • 6th: Silviva (by Zinelord), bred by A. van den Hoff, ridden by Jayden Woering
  • 7th: Sissy (by Landino), bred by E. Agterhuis, ridden by Riëlke Roeland
  • 11th: Sanna Maika VDL (by Arezzo), bred by VDL Stud, ridden by Kim Gudmundsson

In the 5-year-old overall standings:
  • 5th: Robinetta Angel VDL (by Cardento), bred by VDL Stud, ridden by Kim Gudmundsson
  • 11th: Artuna (by Aganix du Seigneur), owned by VDL Stud & F. de Backer, ridden by Arjanne Brinkhoff
