Successful week for VDL offspring in Doha & Sharjah

VDL offspring were prominently represented at several international competitions and achieved strong results in CSI3*, CSI2* and CSI5-W* classes. Below is an overview of the highlights in Doha and Sharjah.

Doha — CSI3*
Davenport VDL (by Diamant de Semilly) 6th in Grand Prix 1.60m
In the CSI3 Grand Prix 1.60m*, Davenport VDL jumped a strong basic round under Saudi rider Khaled Almobty. The pair finished in a very creditable 6th place. Davenport VDL is bred by Nicola Heyser Burger.

On 19 February, the victory in the 1.45m went to Julius.D (by Arezzo), ridden by the lightning-fast Italian Emanuele Gaudiano. With a time of 59.76 seconds, they stayed ahead of all the competition. H. van Dael is the breeder of Julius.D.

A fantastic confirmation of the speed and attitude of Arezzo VDL offspring.

Sharjah — CSI2* & CSI5*-W
In Sharjah, Billy Martini (by Zirocco Blue) jumped to a respectable 3rd place in the CSI2* 1.45m under Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi. Donal Barnwell is the breeder of the Zirocco Blue daughter.

With German rider Sophie Hinners, Doctor Blue (by Durango) took a fine 4th place thanks to a fast double round. The Durango son is bred by J. Otten.

Eloy (by Arezzo), ridden by Hazza Hamad Aldhaheri, also jumped clear in the basic course and finished in the top 10 in 8th place. She is bred by M. van de Bruggen.

The biggest victory in Sharjah went to Iron Dames Come Away Flamingo Z (by Cardento). Under the accurate Sophie Hinners, the mare won the 1.45m class convincingly in 26.87 seconds. Alexandra Rantet bred the Cardento daughter.

In both Doha and Sharjah, offspring of Arezzo, Zirocco Blue, Cardento and Durango once again impressed with their ability, competitive spirit and speed. With victories, podium places and high Grand Prix rankings, it was a very successful week for VDL breeding.
