During the international CSI competitions in Opglabbeek (BEL) from 18 to 21 September 2025, several offspring of VDL stallions were in the spotlight.
21 September – Young Horses 1m15
The five-year-old Pythachoras (by Comthago) jumped to second place in the 1m15 class for young horses. Under French rider Charlotte Spaas Levallois, the stallion remained faultless in both rounds and finished in 40.89 seconds. The Comthago son is bred by De Radstake.
Later that day, Chasspleen Flamingo Z (by Cardento) enjoyed success, taking victory in the 1m40 class under Santiago Diaz Ortega (COL). The gelding, bred by Alexandra Rantet, was unbeatable with a clear round in 24.32 seconds.
19 September – CSI3* 1m40
The victory in the 1m40 CSI3* went to Asad (by Zirocco Blue) with Björn Kuwertz (GER). The pair remained clear and set a winning time of 26.65 seconds. The Zirocco Blue son is bred by Ennisnag Stud.
18 September – Young Horses 1m30
Britain's Christopher Franks won the 1m30 twice with Lex (by Corporal). With two clear rounds in 58 seconds, the combination took the win on Wednesday and Sunday. The Corporal son is bred by J.A.C. Donkers.
VDL stallions make their mark
With offspring of Comthago, Zirocco Blue, Cardento and Corporal convincingly jumping their way to the podium, VDL Stud once again confirms its leading role in international breeding and sport.
