Hampton VDL (Zirocco Blue x Zavall) won the finals of the 7 year okld jumpers at the 5* Horseshow of Coapexpan in Mexico. Hampton VDL was bred at VDL Stud and is ridden by Leonel Martinez from Mexico. There was another offspring of Zirocco Blue in the Top 10: Hesperus Eickenrode (Zirocco Blue x Boracific VDL, bred by: J. van der Waaij uit Kootwijkerbroek) placed 9th with his rider Andres Berganza. They also placed 4th in the qualifier.
In the Grand Prix of Coapexpan Galileo de Laubry (Cardento x Askan de Lauzelle), ridden by Antonio Maurer placed 4th and Hortensia van de Leeuwerk (Corland x Argentinus), ridden by Manuel Gonzales Dufrane, placed 8th.Hortensia van de Leeuwerk also became, with the Mexican Showjumping team, winner of the Nations Cup. Four years ago this fantastic horse was sold by VDL Stud to Mexico.
Fabrice DN (Emilion x Baloubet du Rouet), ridden by Nicolas Pizarro, placed 6th in a 1.45m class and 8th in a 1.50m class.
