Yesterday, the KWPN National Championship took place for mares and foals. In the champion ring of jumping, the bloodlines of the VDL stallions were strongly represented. Thus, in the champion ring of the 3-year-old jumping mares, 4 of the 11 finalists were bred with VDL stallions. The top 3 was formed by two VDL offspring.
Our own Pre Helena VDL (Emerald van 't Ruytershof x Chin Chin) became second, she is out of the Keur, Preferent, Prestatie mare Be Helena. This is the very proven damline of the VDL Stud which includes Celena VDL (1.60m), Darosso VDL (1.60m), Bugatti VDL (1.60m) and many more. A superb third place went to Picobella (by Comthago) bred by Menko and Elsa Jongeling. This bodes well for a successful future. Seventh place went to the Kobalt VDL daughter Persinaa, bred out of the Ster Voorlopig keur mare Fransinaa (by Indoctro). Both mother and daughter are bred by S. van der Meer. Finally, there was a ninth place for Pireina II, a young daughter by Arezzo. She is bred by C. Rijs and owned by VDL Stud.
