It was a VDL festival yesterday evening in the first round of the Stallioncompetition in Hengelo. VDL Baltic won the L-competition and VDL Zavall won the Z/ZZ-class.
The Quaprice-son VDL Baltic, ridden by Jur Vrieling, convincingly won the class for the 4 years old stallions. He received a 9,5 for jumping from the judges, he showed a a great technique, scope and had super reflexes.
Placed 3rd was Bacardi VDL (Corland x Kannan), ridden by Dennis van Tilburg. Bacardi VDL has a lot of potential for showjumping as he showed his great technique and scope, he received an 8 for jumping. Placed 5th was Bugatti VDL (Silverstone x Indoctro), ridden by Marcel de Boer.
In the class for the 5 years old stallions Arezzo VDL (Chin Chin x Heartbreaker) made with his rider Dennis van Tilburg a clear round. In the jump-off he was very fast and placed 2nd.
In the class for the 6-years and older stallions VDL Stallions jumped very well again. Jur Vrieling competed with 3 stallions in this class: VDL Zavall, VDL Zirocco Blue and VDL Wittinger, all 3 stallions made a clear round. VDL Zavall was the first competor in the jump-off and made a time that nobody could beat anymore so this made him the winner of the first competition round, VDL Zirocco Blue placed 3rd and VDL Wittinger unfortunately had one down and placed 11th.
