At the Provincial Foal Championship of Friesland there were good results for offspring of VDL Stallions. Champion became Gelena VDL,  a daughter of Mr. Blue out of the Chin Chin-mare Welena, bred and owned by the VDL Stud. In the top 10 9 foals were descending from VDL Stallions, they were the following foals:

The mare Welena VDL, Champion as a 3 years old and now mother of a Championfoal
