The 15 years old Keur stallion  Cantos deceased yesterday evening at the consequences of damage to the liver. Last night  they did an  operation on him but unfortunately Cantos  has not survived this operation.

Cantos was owned together by the HBC Stal and the VDL Stud. 
Cantos himself had a successful career in sport. As a young stallion he won the stallion competition 1.20m. and he won the ‘Best Young Stallion’ in Zwolle. At international level Cantos and Julia Kayser were 2nd in the Grand Prix in Zuidbroek and Linz. He won the Derby in Bathmen and was several times high placed; 5th and 6th in De Steeg, 5th and 7th in Leipzig, 7th and 9th in Neustadt-Dosse, e.g.

Next to his sportcareer Cantos has been used for breeding and he was a successful sire too.  Cantos was approved by KWPN and by NRPS and was titled ‘Keur’  for both studbooks.Cantos gave blood and race to his offspring, and a good jumping technique.
His oldest offspring are competing now at international level. For example this last Sunday 3 of his offspring were competing in the Grand Prix of the CSI in Assen. Some well known horses sired by Cantos are: Wollie Bollie with A. Zoer, Very Nice with T. Hendrix and Wacantos with J. Morotski.
This  year his son  Dantos HBC (Cantos x Numero Uno) got approved by the KWPN.
