Last week, four VDL offspring managed to win at Thermal in California. Gamble (by Campbell) won the 1.35m class with James Chawke in the Welcome Speed class on Wednesday. The son of Campbell is bred by R. Falkena & A. Olff.
On Sunday, the 1.35m went to Katokyboy HDH (by Arezzo) and Rachel Fields. The Hans Dings-bred Arezzo son also managed to stay clear in the jump-off and set the fastest time. With less than 0.1 seconds difference, the Dakar daughter Jolia BH became second. The Dakar-offspring bred by F. Buma, is out of the "Ster Prestatie" mare Tolia (by Indoctro).
The victory on Sunday in the 1.30m class went to Donique (by Douglas). The Douglas daughter is bred by J. Kramer and is ridden by Ashley Buchanan. In the Against the clock class, the pair managed to stay clear and set the fastest time.
In the 1.30m class on Saturday the victory went to Caipirinha, an offspring of the stallion Pessoa. Caipirinha (by Pessoa) is ridden by Sarah Martin and comes from the breeding farm of Camilla Sudas. The duo managed to beat the competition and stay clear within the time limit.
