New Pleasure secures a convincing victory at 2*CSI Ermelo

New Pleasure, ridden by Jessie Wiefferink, won the 1.40m class on Wednesday and later added a top placing in the Medium Tour Final. The For Pleasure son managed to finish in a fine 7th place. The approved stallion, bred by Stal de Zuidakker, has recently been a duo with Jessie.

C-Livia RV (by Cohinoor) & VDL Quizano van 't Merelnest successful in the 2* Grand Prix

In the CSI2* Grand Prix (1.45m), C-Livia RV Z (by Cohinoor) secured a superb second place. Wesley Mulder rode her clear in both the basic course and the jump-off, finishing in 44.06 seconds. The Cohinoor daughter, bred by H. Renken, had also finished in a creditable 11th place on Thursday.  VDL Quizano van 't Merelsnest finished fourth in the Grand Prix. Riden by Laura Klaphake, the stallion – bred by Stoeterij van 't Merelsnest – produced a neat clear round in the jump-off. 

Novacific Eickenrode wins Medium Tour Final

Another highlight came courtesy of Novacific Eickenrode (by Baltic). Riden by Hessel Hoekstra, she convincingly won the CSI2* Medium Tour Final (1.40m). After a clear-round jump-off, the pair finished in 45.06 seconds, staying ahead of the competition. The Novacific, bred by J. & A.E.A. van der Waaij, had already secured a second and a fourth place earlier in the week.

Neville (by Comthago) also jumped his way to a podium place. Marc Houtzager rode the Comthago son to second place; he was bred by G. Turksema. Karin (by Baltic), bred by E. Vriend and ridden by Wesley de Boer, finished fourth.

The VDL stallions also continued to enjoy success in the other classes:

  • Ben 483 (by Brantzau) won the CSI2* 1.35m class with Emelie Pieper; he was bred by U. Grochowski.
  • ​Nina Maria (by Comthago) claimed victory in the opening 1.35m class under Marc Houtzager; she was bred by M. van Deursen.

Strong finish in the CSI1* Grand Prix

The VDL horses were once again well represented in the closing CSI1* Grand Prix (1.35m). PSG Starlight (by Zirocco Blue) finished sixth under Richard Wright, whilst Toledo (by Tobago Z) took seventh place with Wesley de Boer. The Zirocco Blue son was bred by F. Wagner and Toledo was bred by R. van de Bruggen.
