Cardento daughter Isis dominates with victory in Amsterdam Grand Prix (1.60m)

Jumping Amsterdam delivered a series of impressive results for horses with VDL blood this weekend. In both the CSI5*-W classes and the U25 Grand Prix, offspring of Cardento, Grand Slam VDL and Bubalu VDL confirmed their class. In addition, the VDL stallions Mattias and Stargos also showed their top form.

ISIS (by Cardento) wins Grand Prix Amsterdam (1.60m)

Frank Schuttert rode Isis (by Cardento) to an unrivalled victory in the Grand Prix. Two clear rounds and a rock-solid jump-off in 37.82 seconds secured the win for the combination. The duo took home no less than €28,750 in prize money. The breeder of the Cardento daughter is H.N. de Boer, Nieuwleusen (NED).

EHNING FLAMINGO (by Cardento) fifth in 1.60m Longines FEI World Cup

Cardento also made his mark at World Cup level: Ehning Flamingo (by Cardento) jumped to an impressive 5th place under Penelope Leprevost, double clear in 48.21 seconds. This earned the duo €10,350 in prize money. He was bred by S.A.R.L. Cavalex.

Grand Slam VDL and Bubalu VDL complete the podium in the GP

2nd place for Gangster WW (by Grand Slam VDL) Luke Dee (NZL) rode Gangster WW (by Grand Slam VDL) to a convincing 2nd place in the Grand Prix. The duo was also 0/0 and finished in a time of 38.78 seconds. Wilhelm Winkeler (GER) is the breeder of the Grand Slam son.

5th place for VDL Kelton (by Bubalu VDL)

The VDL-bred VDL Kelton (by Bubalu VDL) finished 5th with Annelies Vorsselmans thanks to two clear rounds in 40.35 seconds. The Bubalu son was bred in collaboration with Y. Walda, Bears (NED).

Stargos VDL wins & Mattias 2nd in the 1.40m CSI5*

Stargos VDL (by Stakkato Gold) scored a magnificent victory in the 1.40m 5*. Ridden by Hessel Hoekstra, the stallion remained clear in 56.07 seconds. This victory once again confirms the rising international level of Stargos VDL. Stargos was also bred by Wilhelm Winkeler (GER).

Mattias (by Comme il Faut) with Jur Vrieling finished second. The pair also managed to remain clear in their 5* debut in a fast time. Mattias was bred by H. Nijborg.

Quickthago wins the U25 Grand Prix

There was more VDL success in the U25 Grand Prix:
Quickthago, a talented offspring from VDL lines, jumped to victory in the U25 Grand Prix. Quickthago was bred by B. Wezenberg and is a son of Quickly de Kreisker. The duo also managed to finish in 2nd place on Thursday.

With victories in the CSI5* World Cup, Grand Prix and the U25 Grand Prix, Jumping Amsterdam was an excellent weekend for VDL horses and breeders. The VDL stallions once again proved their worth as suppliers of show jumpers that perform at the highest international level.
