In the CSI5* Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, the Grand Prix of 's-Hertogenbosch over 1.60m, there were fine results for several offspring of VDL Stud stallions.
Leone Jei (Baltic x Corland) and Martin Fuchs (SUI) finished narrowly fifth; with a fast clear round (38.79 sec) in the jump-off, the breeding product of G.M. van Mersbergen from Udenhout (NED) delivered another top performance, rewarded with a cash prize of €60,000.
Hallilea (Zirocco Blue x Larome) and Lars Kersten (NED) were also double clear and, with a fast jump off time of 39.01 seconds, achieved a superb sixth place, good for €45,000. Pieter Kersten (NED) bred Halilea, who also showed a lot in 2022.
Catch me Not S (Cardento x Ramiro's Son I) and Peter Fredericson (SWE) took a fine seventh place in this Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping; the 39.48 seconds the combination needed to jump the jump-off clear still earned a handsome €30,000 prize money. Catch me Not S was bred by Krister Svedberg (SWE).
El Rocco (Zirocco Blue x Ircolando) and Jur Vrieling (NED) won the CSI5* class over 1.45m by a mile. El Rocco was bred by C. and H. Soethout-Koopman (NED).
Third in the exciting CSI5* competition over 1.40m were Icaronne-S (Carrera x Lord Z) and Eric van der Vleuten with a barracks time of 33.06 seconds. The 10-year-old Icaronne-S was bred by Fam. Van Straaten (NED).
