Yesterday evening we had to say goodbye to our fantastic stallion Corland. Corland reached here with us at the VDL Stud in Bears an age of 28 years. Corland was of great significance, not only for us but also for sport and breeding worldwide. Corland had an impressive career under W.J. van der Schans. At the European Championship, Corland proved to all that he belongs in the category ‘the best in the world’. In Nation’s Cup series, he won both qualifiers and had the best results of the Nation’s competition clocking the fastest clear round. In the finals, he was 9th. He placed high in several Grand Prix, was Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the World Cup of Verona and 2nd in ‘The Sires of the World’ in Lanaken.
As a sire Corland has brought a numerous number of Grand Prix jumpers, some famous horses he sired are for example Silvana, Apardi, VDL Torlando and California. Besides being the sire to several approved stallions, Corland has also been influential through his excellent breeding daughters, who gained the predicates ‘Preferent’ and ‘Prestatie’.
Corland still will be available for breeding through frozen semen.
