WELLINGTON - The first quarter of 2021 is not completely over yet, but so far Eddie Blue (by Zirocco Blue) is according to Hippomundo the best earning Dutch show jumper. With Devin Ryan (USA), twelve-year-old Eddie Blue has already earned almost € 75,000.
Eddie Blue was bred by J. Honcoop from Chaam out of the keur-performance mare Silvana (by Marlon).
This month Eddie Blue and Devin Ryan took a nice fifth place in the 5 * Grand Prix of Wellington. In February a great third place was achieved in the same 1.60m Grand Prix competition, also in Wellington.
As a five-year-old Eddie Blue already became Champion of the American East Coast of the five-year-old show jumpers. As a six-year-old, the talented Zirocco Blue descendant also won this championship title.
In 2017 Eddie Blue and Devin Ryan won the North Salem World Cup in New York. That year, the combination finished sixth in the $ 1,000,000 Grand Prix of Saugerties HITS on the Hudson VIII, and won the Grand Prix of Silver Oak in Halifax, USA.
In 2018, Eddy Blue and Ryan were mainly active in Europe and won the Gold Medal with the American show jumping team at the WEG in Tryon. Later that year, they came second in the World Cup Competition in Toronto, Canada. Eddie Blue was the best show jumper in the Horsetelex rankings in 2018.
2019 continued the brilliant career of maybe the most successful Zirocco-Blue offspring ever, including third place in the GP $ 300,000 Longines ranking 1.60m class.
In 2020 the success continued with Eddie Blue finishing third in the CSI4 * Longines FEI Jumping World Cup over 1.60m. In November 2020, the ultra talented combination won the 4 * Grand Prix of Lexington, KY.
