Homebred Gisborne VDL (Zirocco Blue) second in CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in Wellington

WELLINGTON - Gisborne VDL, the VDL Stud-bred son of Zirocco VDL x Goodtimes, was second in the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in Wellington (USA) yesterday. Under Daniel Coyle (IRE), Gisborne VDL jumped two fantastic clear rounds. In December, Coyle was also several times successful with Gisborne VDL, winning the 1.40m and 1.45m in Thermal (CA).
Gisborne is a son of the Grand Prix stallion Zirocco Blue, combined with the Shoraya lineage. This line produced numerous international showjumping horses such as VDL Bubalu, VDL Groep Verdi, Pessoa, Optiebeurs Aldato and San Patrigano Deka. The 12-year-old Gisborne is also sire of several successful offspring, such as Zinnie (Gisborne VDL x Cortez), who won the 2020 free-jumping championship for three-year-old show jumpers in Sweden. Ariel Grange is currently the owner of the talented Gisborne, who excels with his carefulness and scope.

Legolas ter Wilgen (Emmerton VDL x Chin Chin), ridden Emilie Conter (BEL), were not undeservingly sixth in the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in Wellington yesterday. Wilfried Rooms (BEL) bred the 12-year-old Legolas ter Wilgen.
