Vejer de la Frontera – During the CSI4* in sunny southern Spain, several VDL offspring once again demonstrated their quality. In the Grand Prix CSI4 1.55m (Longines Ranking)*, Hulahupe Jr (by Bubalu) and Lexington (by Etoulon) jumped to top rankings in a strong field of competitors.
Britain's Joe Whitaker kept a clear scoreboard with Hulahupe Jr in both the basic course and the jump-off and finished in an excellent fifth place with a lightning-fast time of 39.52 seconds. The breeder of this gelding is J. Reitsma from Driezum (NED), who also took third place in the 1.50m earlier in the week.
Lexington (by Etoulon) also showed his ability and attitude once again under Max Wachman (IRL). She finished in tenth place. The Etoulon son is bred by Willem-Jan Michielsen from Wernhout (BEL).
In the 1.35m class, El Capone RK (by Cardento) under Luca Maria Moneta (ITA) convincingly took the victory with a clear round in 29.45 seconds. R. Knoops is the breeder of the Cardento offspring.
In addition, Noblesse (by Falaise de Muze) and Glandore (by Carrera) also jumped clear rounds and achieved top rankings in their classes, once again highlighting the broad success of VDL genetics. The Falaise de Muze daughter bred by Hageman finished 7th in the 1.35m class and the Carrera daughter bred by P. Connolly finished 11th in the 1.35m class.
In the young horse class, T-Jewel's Treasure (by Baltic) with Paige Jacobs (RSA) won the 6-year-old class. The young Baltic was bred by Jewel Court Stud.
