Last Thursday, the semi-final of the KWPN Pavo Cup took place in Ermelo. With 28 other strong competitors Merlot VDL competed in this class. The stallion was presented by Femke de Laat and made a good impression. With a superb score of 81.8%, the pair became eighth, good for a place in the finals.
The trot was rated 8.7 and stood out for its light-footedness with good cadence. Merlot VDL's front leg use was also described as very elegant. For the overall impression, Merlot VDL with Femke de Laat received an 8.4, with the following jury comment: "Horse with a beautiful model and lots of charisma who moves in a light-footed manner.".
During the final, Merlot VDL managed to move up 1 place. His trot was therefore rated just a little higher than during semi-finals. This promises to be a great indoor season for the duo.
