During the CSI1* competition at Equestrian Centre De Peelbergen, Mindset secured an impressive victory in the 1.45m Grand Prix. Ridden by Hessel Hoekstra, the son of Aganix du Seigneur produced a clear-round jump-off in a fast time of 34.03 seconds. With this convincing performance, the pair stayed well ahead of the competition and secured the top prize of €7,050. Mindset is bred by Egbert Schep.
The VDL stud farm also made its mark in this Grand Prix. Cadillac Z, a son of Carrera, finished in a respectable fifth place with Thijmen Vos after two clear rounds. The Carrera son is bred by G. Weggemans.
Success in the Youngster Tours
The young VDL horses also made an impression. In the class for 6-year-olds (1.25m), victory went to Peyton VDH (by Cohinoor) with Grete Veske, who stayed ahead of the competition with a fast clear round. Earlier, the Cohinoor son, bred by Guth & van den Heuvel, had also finished in 2nd and 3rd place.
In the 8-year-olds (1.40m), VDL was strongly represented with several placings:
- New Champion Evo (by Etoulon) – 3rd place with Sem Huizenaar, bred by: Mr van Omme
- Novacific Eickenrode (by Baltic) – 4th place with Hessel Hoekstra, bred by: J. & A.E.A. v/d Waaij
- Napardi VDL (by Inaico) – 7th place with Annelies Vorsselmans, bred by: VDL Stud
In the 7-year-olds:
- Cartier VDL (by Carrera) – 10th place with Vincent Byrne, bred by: Karel Aerts
Another top placing in the Big Tour
On Friday, Hessel Hoekstra rode PSG Starlight (by Zirocco Blue) to a strong fourth place in the 1.45m Big Tour. Franz Wagner bred the Zirocco Blue daughter. Victory in that class went to Iron Dames Keiralanda VDM (by Douglas) with Sophie Hinners. The Douglas daughter had already shown the day before that she was in top form with another victory. She is bred by Heechiem BV. There was also success for Kantarina (by Cardento), bred by De Radstake. The Cardento daughter managed to finish in a fine 3rd place with Emily Fisher.
