This Saturday, 4 April, VDL Stud in Bears will open its doors for the annual stallion show. Breeders and enthusiasts from home and abroad are warmly invited to view the collection of stallions for the coming breeding season. The event offers an overview of proven sporting achievements and promising breeding prospects.
During the show, established names such as Arezzo, Baltic, Carrera, Cartello, Etoulon, Hardrock, Harley and Zirocco Blue will be presented in hand. In addition, three new, interesting older stallions have been added to the collection:
- Missouri van ’t Ruytershof, the genetically interesting stallion who performed in sport under Pilar Lucrecia Cordon
- Insider VDL, the premium stallion whose oldest offspring, such as Magdalena VDL, No Cider TD and Nord Face VDL, are making their mark in sport
- ‘Horse of a Lifetime’ Con Quidam, who performed at the very highest level under Sanne Thijssen
The international and Grand Prix stallions are also on hand. Stallions such as Comthago, Grand Slam, Landino, Mindset, Mattias, Night Life, New Pleasure, Neymar, Sambucci de Muze and Stargos will demonstrate their current sporting prowess.
The next generation of young stallions will also be presented, including Aston, Boston, Everett, Magnus van der Söhr and Portorico. The stallions Santiago.Salerno, Springfield and Sunrise, recently approved by the KWPN, will also feature in the presentation.
The stallions will be presented by top riders such as Jur Vrieling, Hessel Hoekstra, Luke Hill, Sytze van Dellen, Alexander Boursier and Cristel Kalf.
There is also an interesting selection for dressage enthusiasts. Merlot will be presented by his new rider Dinja van Liere, and the young stallions Bretagne, Everglow Gold and Fioretti will also take to the arena.
In addition to the stallions, various offspring of the stallions will also be shown.
The presentation will be hosted by Frederik de Backer and Bert de Ruiter.
Admission is free and the show starts at 1.00 pm. For those unable to attend, the stallion show will be broadcast live via ClipMyHorse.
