Boston is a stallion from our own breeding program and comes from one of our most successful damlines. He is a son of the preferent stallion Baltic VDL, who has made a significant mark on international showjumping with offspring such as Leone Jei, Ilex, and Faltic HB. With Zirocco Blue VDL and Cardento on the dam’s side, two additional influential sires strengthen Boston’s pedigree. Zirocco Blue is represented at the highest level by horses such as Elysium, Zilton SL Z, Zuccero, and Glamour Girl, while Cardento is known for offspring like Katanga van het Dingeshof, Grand Slam VDL, and Farrel. 

Boston VDL's dam Jeune Dame VDL is bred out of the successful broodmare B Dame VDL. She produced, among others, Icoon VDL, now known as Rock of Cashel; under the saddle of Hessel Hoekstra, Icoon VDL won the Grand Prix of Eindhoven, placed third in the Grand Prix of Falsterbo and was travelling reserve for the World Championships in Herning. Today, Rock of Cashel can be seen with Cian O'Connor and Tom Wachman. Boston VDL's great-granddam Notre Dame also produced several approved stallions and international jumpers, such as Bordeaux VDL, Taloubet VDL and Kingsland VDL. Furthermore, this famous Holsteiner line 242 produced, among others, the foundation stallions Ahorn and Joost.

At the Zangersheide stallion show, Boston VDL convincingly earned his breeding license. He stands out for his enormous scope, good balance and excellent rideability. With his excellent damline, strong pedigree and own qualities, Boston VDL can add scope, jumping technique and rideability.

Boston VDL was the only KWPN-stalion to jump double clear in all rounds of the KWPN Stallion competition 4 yo. and he was winner of the final in Den Bosch as well. This made him the convincing champion of the 2023/2024 stallioncompetition.
