The elegant Bretagne VDL was one of the highlights at the Oldenburg stallion licensing in early 2025. He is from the first crop of the Hanoverian premium stallion Be Sure, who won the Bundeschampionate for six-year-olds last year. Based on his performance at the stallion licensing and in the 35-day test, Be Sure was crowned Danish champion at the age of four. The grandsire is the sire Secret and followed by the Olympic stallion Totilas.
Bretagne VDL also inherits a great deal of dressage talent and excellent movements from his dam’s side. He is a grandson of the international Grand Prix mare MSJ Top Secret, ridden by Alexander Harrison, who was sold last year to Santiago Damil with a view to competing in global championships. The Totilas daughter was already successful as a young horse under Charlotte Dujardin and is a half-sister to the Intermediate II-level competing stallion MSJ Benchmark of Jacob Nörby Sörensen. In the third generation, Bretagne VDL traces back to a half-sister of Henriette Andersen’s Grand Prix horse Flavio. Thus, Bretagne VDL comes from a successful family and has a bright future ahead.
