Last year, he made a strong impact at the Young Horse Championships in Fontainebleau, where he was prominently represented in the finals. A noteworthy detail is that Candy’s half-brother Indigo de Nantuel claimed victory there in the seven-year-old division.

Candy de Nantuel himself competed successfully at 1.55m-level under Pénélope Leprévost. Given his outstanding pedigree, it comes as no surprise that Candy de Nantuel is developing into one of the most influential sires of his generation. He is a full brother to the exceptional Hello Folie, with whom Scott Brash won double silver at the European Championships in La Coruña. Dam Thara Nantuel competed internationally at 1.45m-level and placed third in the national 1.50m class in Lyon. She is a full sister to the 1.60m performer Oceane de Nantuel. Granddam Karma de Nantuel likewise demonstrated her quality at national 1.50m-level. This pedigree is completed by the Grand Prix stallion Luidam, a long-standing cornerstone of the Irish team with Billy Twomey. Offspring such as Blue Angel, Luibanta BH, Luikan Q and Gemma W have clearly proven his exceptional influence as a sire.
