Cornet’s Diamond is an outstanding jumping son of the great Cornet Obolensky combined with a dam line incorporating the best show-jumping bloodlines of Ireland.
Sire Cornet Obolensky successfully jumped at the highest international level with Marco Kutscher and is ranked third in the WBFSH Show Jumping Sire Ranking. He sired Grand Prix show jumpers Cornet d’Amour and Cor-net Cristallo, among others.
Maternal grand sire Cuper is a strong breeding son of Holsteiner stallion Cham-bertin. Further on the bottom-line are thoroughbred stallion Imperius xx and the Irish dynasty maker - King of Diamonds.
The dam line of Cornet’s Diamond has produced many international show jumpers, to include top jumper Nick of Diamonds with Leslie Burr-Howard, and the Swedish approved stallion Jack of Diamonds, a 1.30m jumper. From this mare line also comes many talented eventing horses, like Rioghan Rua, winner of team gold at the European Championships in Jardy and individually 7th. Great grand dam, Palm Sunday, foaled the 1.60m jumper mare Cavalier Diamond and a 1.40m jumper mare Strandeen Western Promise.
Cornet’s Diamond is a modern horse with a lot of blood. The stallion did an excellent 70-day performance test in Schlieckau, Germany. With 137 points for jumping he was third. For jumping he scored 8.39 with the following marks: character 9.5, willingness 9, constitution 9.5, jumping talent 9.25, jumping talent (loose jumping) 9 and jumping talent (test rider) 9.13.
The first foals of Cornet’s Diamond have three fantastic gaits. They are modern sport type foals with a lot of blood and much expression.
