The 3-year-old gelding Magic Carlos V is a son of one of the best sires of his generation: Arezzo VDL. Grand Prix showjumpers such as VDL Edgar M (Marlon Zanotelli), Farezzo (Edwin Smits) or Electra B (Richard Howley) all are offspring sired by the great Arezzo VDL. Magic Carlos V was bred out of the Karla damline - for decades one of the Netherlands' leading damlines. Dam Bokarla V already produced Gogo - as a 7-year-old winner of the Dutch KWPN Championships for Young Horses and already a multiple Grand Prix winner with Willem Greve. Granddam Tiekarla V produced the 1.45m showjumper Fugero Carlos and is the granddam to the talented KWPN approved stallion Kardesh. Great-granddam Eukarla stood at the basis of numerous Grand Prix showjumpers, such as Holger Wenz's The Boss and Patrik Spits' Wouskarla. This damline also produced the legendary Mr. Blue.
