Last weekend Bubalu and his rider Jur Vrieling competed in the FEI Nations Cup of Hickstead. Bubalu jumped a double clear round in this Nation Cup, a great performance because just four other horses had a double clear round. With the Dutch team they finished in second place.

Among the other four horses who jumped clear was the Indoctro-son Imothep. Imothep was ridden by Darragh Kenny and competed for the Irish Team.

Other VDL-offspring were placed in several competitions:
- 3rd in 1.45m competition: Labors Wonderboy (s. Indoctro) ridden by Wout-Jan van der Schans

- twice 5th in a 1.45m competition: Andretti S (s. Corland) ridden by Laura Kraut (USA)

- 4e 1.45m: Wilhelmus S (Emilion x Burggraaf), ridden by  Laura Kraut
 

The placings of Wilhelmus S and S Andretti  are a good result for the breeding farm of Fred van Straaten, both horses have been bred by him.
