In the Longines Ranking Grand Prix over two rounds (1.45m) on 3 August, the mare Samara (by Cardento) achieved a fine third place. The Cardento daughter is bred by Eleonaora Berlusconi and was ridden by Bruno Chimirri.
During the CSI2* competition in Cervia, Italy, several VDL offspring showed their class in classes up to 1.45m. With victories and podium places, they once again proved their international value.
Gaudiano and Jaja race to victory
On 2 August, Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano claimed victory in the 1.35m two-phase class. Riding Jaja (by Zirocco Blue VDL), bred by P. Olthof, he rode clear and fast: 0/0 in 26.77 seconds.
Zaloznik takes victory with Manchester (by Harley)
There was also success for a VDL offspring on 1 August. North Macedonian rider Luka Zaloznik convincingly won the qualifying class for Saturday (1.40m) with Manchester (by Harley VDL). The combination remained clear in both phases and recorded a fast time of 29.14 seconds. The Harley son is bred by H. Steinmeyer & M.S. Assen.
Both in speed and technical tests, VDL offspring proved their versatility during the competition in Cervia.
