On the 1st of April 2023 we, the VDL Stud in Bears, the Netherlands, will open our doors once again and welcome breeders and enthusiasts from all over the world to see the fantastic collection of stallions which are available to breed with. Not only the proven sires like Zirocco Blue, Carrera, Arezzo, Douglas, Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest, Hardrock Z and Baltic but also the future big names.

Recently added to the stallion portfolio is the Bronze Medal winner in the Final of the World Championship for 5yr. olds in Lanaken, Mindset ES.
Not to forget the Champion from the stallion competition in Den Bosch, Night Life VDL (Erco van ‘t Roosakker x Arezzo) and the prolific winner from nearly all 5-year-old classes and competitions last year Stargos VDL (Stakkato Gold x Conthargos).

This year we have added a new concept giving you a chance to ask about any one of our stallions which could be answered during the show by Wiebe Yde van de Lageweg and Frederik de Backer.
Frederik will be making his debut at the ‘Live’ show this year and will be sharing the responsibility with Bert de Ruiter, who has presented our show for many years.

World top 10 rider Marlon Modolo Zanotelli will be attending with his top stallions Grand Slam VDL and Comthago, who are making their names in the World Stage now. Of course, one of the world’s best, one of the Netherlands leading riders and trusted rider for VDL, Jur Vrieling will also be present.

It doesn’t stop there, our dressage horses will also be live, young prospects Merlot (Bordeaux x Florencio) and Expectation (Escamillo x Fürst Romancier) will be presented as well as newly approved in Westfalen, Zoretto VDL (Zenon x Chello III) and the always impressive Barton VDL.

Everyone is welcome to attend the show live, but if you can’t make it, you still don’t have to miss out.
The show will also be live on Clip My Horse with commentary in English, Dutch and German. The VDL stallionshow will start at 13:00h (CET, GMT +1).
