VDL horses have performed strongly at all levels in Mexico City

Mexico City (MEX) – April 2026 – During a high-level international weekend in Mexico City, several VDL-bred show jumpers once again demonstrated their quality, securing placings in both CSI2* and CSI5* classes.

In the CSI2* Grand Prix (1.45m) on Sunday 19 April, Fatima San Isidro (by Cardento), bred by CCDM, put in a fine performance under the saddle of Mexican rider Victor Morales Varona. A day earlier, in the prestigious CSI5* GCT/GCL Tour (1.50m), VDL Kelton (by Bubalu) made his mark with Belgian rider Annelies Vorsselmans. The pair remained clear in the basic course and clocked 40.42 seconds, resulting in tenth place and €2,110 in prize money. VDL Kelton is bred by VDL Stud & Y. Walda (Bears, NED).

At the highest level, in the CSI5* GCL Individual competition (1.60m) on 17 April, two offspring of Grand Slam secured prize money. The experienced Swiss rider Jane Richard rode Legend SMH to an impressive sixth place, earning €3,408. Legend SMH is bred by Esther Hovenga. Belgian rider Thibault Philippaerts also secured a placing with Lyandro MDB, who finished twelfth. The Grand Slam son is bred by M. de Boer.

With these results, the VDL horses once again confirm their consistent presence on the international stage, from the 1.45m class up to the most demanding 1.60m level.
