During the international show in Kronenberg, several horses from the VDL stable once again put in strong performances. With victories in the Big Tour, Grand Prix and Youngster classes, the offspring of various VDL stallions made a strong impression.
The victory in the Grand Prix went to Be Blue (by Brantzau) with Sergio Alvarez Moya. The Brantzau daughter, bred by H. Osterkamp, proved unbeatable with a time of 41.60 seconds. On Thursday, in the CSI2* Big Tour over 1.45m, the entire podium featured VDL offspring. Be Blue (by Brantzau) won again with Sergio Alvarez Moya, whilst Danger 76 (by Dallas) took second place with Betram Allen. The Dallas son is bred by Gutsverwaltung Berl. Novacific Eickenrode completed the podium with a third place for Hessel Hoekstra. J. & J.E.A. van der Waaij bred the Baltic daughter.
In the CSI1* Big Tour over 1.35m, Landino VDL (by Stakkato Gold) jumped to victory with our rider Luke Hill. The pair recorded a clear-round jump-off in 44.86 seconds. Landino VDL is bred by VDL Stud itself.
There was also success for a VDL-bred horse in the Medium Tour Final (1.45m). Once again, Novacific Eickenrode, a daughter of Baltic, demonstrated that she is in fine form, winning the class convincingly under Hessel Hoekstra. The pair completed a clear round in 37.97 seconds. In the same class, Night Life, ridden by Luke Hill, finished in an impressive third place. Night Life is a son of Erco van ’t Roosakker and is bred by VDL Stud.
The young horses also secured VDL successes. In the Youngster Tour for six-year-olds, Peyton VDH (by Cohinoor) won the 1.25m class with rider Grete Veske. Cohinoor, bred by S. Guth & R. van de den Heuvel, also managed to secure two fourth places. A day earlier, Zindita Blue Z (by Zirocco Blue), ridden by Ernesto Canseco, also claimed victory in the Youngster Tour. Auke de Jong is the breeder of the young Zirocco Blue mare.
With these results, the VDL stallions once again underline their value at international level, from young horses to Grand Prix competition.
