Hortensia van de Leeuwerk (Corland) and High Five (Glasgow v/h Merelsnest x Corland) win Challenge Cup with Mexican team in Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final

BARCELONA - Hortensia van de Leeuwerk (Corland x Argentinus) and High Five (Glasgow v/h Merelsnest x Corland) won the Challenge Cup in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final with the Mexican team.

But clears from Fernando Martinez Sommer with High Five and Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane and Hortensia van de Leeuwerk sealed Mexico’s victory, with Gonzalez Dufrane also winning 50,000 Euros for a double clear between Thursday and Saturday.

Hortensia van de Leeuwerk was bred by Ronald Joosen (BEL), was sold to Mexico via VDL Stud and now boasts a long line of victories at the highest level there. 

Sweden finished second in the Challenge Cup on 4 points, Flip's Little Sparrow (Cardento x Robin Z) and Stephanie Holmén (SWE) were part of this also successful team.

Dolinn N.O.P. (Cardento x Lux, breeder: Hoppenbrouwers family) and Harrie Smolders (NED) finished in second place in the CSIO5*-NC Final, after two clear rounds over 1.55m.

VDL Stud-bred Guppie VDL (Arezzo VDL x Cardento) finished eighth in the CSIO5* competition over 1.45m under Jack Ryan (IRE). 
Harwich VDL (Arezzo x Darco), also born and raised on the VDL Stud, also showed his qualities under Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and finished seventh in the 1.50m
