BALKBRUG - Icarinda (Etoulon x Ukato) and Wesley de Boer (NED) won the 1.45m Grand Prix in Balkbrug. Icarina also stayed clear in the jump-off and set the fastest time.
J.E. & S. Wolters (NED) bred the 10-year-old Icarinda.
Fourth place in this Grand Prix was for Isis (Cardento x Guidam) and Julian De Boer (NED).
Ten-year-old Isis was bred by H.N.de Boer (NED).
Kaphira (Corland x Clearway) and Wesley de Boer finished fifth. A.M. Veltmaat (NED) bred the eight-year-old mare.
A fantastic second place went to the young and talented stallion McAllister VDL (Inaico x Emilion) in the 1.30m class. This stallion is also ridden by and Wesley de Boer.
In the 1.40m of edition 2023 of Paard Balkbrug, Dakina II (Indoctro x Amor) came second under the saddle of Elike Morsink. J.R.J. Evenhuis, De Lutte (NED) / L.G. Morsink, De Lutte (NED) bred Dakina II.
There were also notable successes in the young horse classes.
Mrs Meeus v/d Wolfshoeve (Dallas VDL x Cento), ridden by Marloes Bos, came second in the six-year-olds.
Annemieke van der Horst (NED) bred Mrs. Meeus v/d Wolfshoeve.
Muppet Tk (Hampshire VDL x Karandasj), bred by J. ten Kate (NED) and ridden by Marcel de Boer, was fourth in this class.
In the five-year-olds, Norah Van De Duinbosschen (Glasgow-w Vh Merelsnest x Ustinov) was third under Willem Verdonk. Norah's breeder is Stal de Duinbosschen (NED). With Nadessa (Jardonnay VDL x Wolfgang), bred by J. Otten (NED), the same rider was fifth.
The class for four-year-olds yielded Ohio Newpeat Jb (Pommerol De Muze x Grand Slam VDL) and Martine Kroes third place. J. Boldewijn bred Ohio Newpeat Jb.
Fifth was Opinion Gr (Arezzo VDL x Glasgow-w V/h Merelsnest), ridden by Tonny Leeuwen. Breeder of Opinion Gr is Th. Griffioen (NED).
