VEJER DE LA FRONTERA - VDL Stella (Cardento x Baloubet du Rouet), ridden by Carly Anthony (USA), won the CSIO3* over 1.45m in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP). The mare was almost two seconds faster than number two. Cardento daughter VDL Stella was sold during the annual event the WEF Sport Horse Auction - edition 2020 - in Wellington (Florida).
Laurier (Zirocco Blue VDL x Chin Chin) and Ludo Phillippaerts (BEL) claimed the victory in the CSIO3* competition over 1.50m.
Narcotique van het Dingeshof (Harley VDL x Chacco-Blue), ridden by Giampiero Garofalo (ITA), won a CSIO3* class over 1.45m.
King Lepantino (Arezzo VDL x Lord Z), ridden by Marek Lewicki (POL), won the CSIYH1* for six-year-olds over 1.30m.
The young horse classes in Vejer de la Frontera were also a success for Daisy (Glasgow v.'t. Merelsnest x Canturano I) and Malgorzata Ciszek - Lewicka (POL): they won the CSIYH1* for seven-year-olds over 1.35m. This combination was second in another 1.35m class.
Giraldo L (Zirocco Blue VDL x Indorado), ridden by Msciwoj Kiecon (POL), finished fifth in a CSIO3* 1.40m class. Sixth was Narcotique van het Dingeshof (Harley VDL x Chacco-Blue), ridden by Giampiero Garofalo (ITA).
In the Nations Cups, the descendants of Zirocco Blue did good business.
G-Vingino-Blue (Zirocco Blue VDL x Orame, bred by Fam. Noordman) and Skye Morssinkhof (NED) came third in this 1.45m competition, while Androide 3K (Zirocco Blue VDL x Indoctro), bred by Haras 3K and ridden by Felipe Amaral (BRA), finished fourth. A few years ago, this now ten-year-old horse was third at the National Foal Championships in Brazil, in the colts category aged 24 to 36 months.
