Making a great impression, Barton was approved with the Oldenburg Verband. His elegant type and athletic movement make him a very promising stallion for the future. Sire Bordeaux performed at Grand Prix level with Isabel Freese and is now under the saddle of the Japanese rider Akane Kuroki, who has set the Olympic Games in Tokyo with Bordeaux under the guidance of Imke Schellekens Bartels. The United son should not only rely on his own performances; thanks to his offspring, Bordeaux has grown into one of the most successful stallions of his generation. His offspring are doing very well both in the sport and in the inspections and now he has about 25 approved sons in various studbooks. Below the extremely talented stallions Ferdeaux, Barroso and many others.
With grandfather Sir Donnerhall I, the genes of dressage legend Donnerhall are captured twice in Barton's pedigree; both via sire Bordeaux and via grandfather Sir Donnerhall I. The latter has also grown into a leading stallion in recent years and is represented at all levels in dressage. Great-grandfather Rubinstein I is undeniably one of the most influential dressage stallions of all time.
Barton VDL's dam line is also very successful. Dam Honigbluete for example already produced the stallion Don du Ciel approved in Mecklenburg and also the Prix St. Georges classified Heide Spirit. She is also the half-sister of the Oldenburger approved stallion Degas, who performed at Grand Prix level under the German Peter Koch. Terese Rochelt's Grand Prix dressage horse Rosseau is also closely related to Barton VDL.
Palmares
With Barton VDL, the VDL Stud has again managed to bring in an interesting dressage stallion for breeding. At the stallion inspection of the Oldenburger Verband, Barton VDL was well received and he earned his breeding license. The VDL Stud struck at the stallion auction and brought this particularly interesting Bordeaux son to the Netherlands. Barton VDL also showed a good performance at the first viewing of the KWPN Stallion Show, which is how he obtained a ticket for 's-Hertogenbosch.
