Bacardi is an impressive son of ‘keur’ Grand Prix jumper Corland. Corland’s offspring perform at the highest international level - for example: Top Gun, Marlo and Silvana. Dam’s sire, Kannan, was National Jumping Champion of France. Kannan is also the sire of A Big Boy. Next in the pedigree comes the legendary stallion Jasper (‘Little One’ under Hugo Simon) and the Grand Prix jumper Fresco.
Bacardi’s dam Supardi scored a 9 for scope in her mare-test. Bacardi’s half sister Capardi had a good IBOP with the highest score of the day receiving an 8.5 for her canter. Grand dam Gupardi is the mother of at least 2 national jumpers.
He is currently one of the most promising young jumpers at international shows.
Bacardi received a 9 for his scope during the performance test. At competitions Bacardi has shown that he has grown into a top show jumper. He stands out with his powerful canter, his unlimited scope and his good jumping technique. With Dennis van Tilburg he became 4th in the final of the Vion Cup and 11th in the final classification. He was also one of the most outstanding stallions in the stallion competitions and he was clear in Zuidbroek and Hengelo, where he finished 5th.
In 2013 the stallion won silver at the World Championship for young show jumpers in Lanaken as a seven-year-old under Jos Lansink. Shortly afterwards Janika Sprunger took over the reins, after which the stallion managed to establish himself among the absolute world top. In 2017 the duo jumped the first five-star competitions in which several great prizes were won by Sprunger and Bacardi.
Bacardi and Sprunger belonged to the Swiss team that took part in the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. The duo also won the World Cup Grand Prix in Dubai and came third in the Sharjah World Cup.
Bacardi is now under the saddle of Edwina Tops-Alexander.

KRONENBERG - Gouvernante VDL (Bacardi x Stakkato) and Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA) achieved a wonderful second and sixth place in the CSI2* over 1.40m and 1.45m in Kronenberg (NED).

EXLOO - Goldenstar (Bacardi VDL x Ipsylon B) and James Billington won the 1.45m during the CSI2* competition in Exloo. Two clear rounds and a very fast time resulted in the victory for the successful combination.
With a sales price of € 30,000,- Quel Heart G&O (Harley x Candillo) was the best-selling foal of the Trigon Auctions last night. Bluebell VDL Z (Bacardi VDL) followed in close second with a sales price of € 28,000,-.
TRAVSERSE CITY - Millioninmind (Douglas x Glidawn Diamond) and Emily Ward (GBR) finished second in the Traverse City (USA) Grand Prix. Gerinus T (Arezzo VDL x Indoctro) and Ryann Genn (USA) won the 1.40m.
WELLINGTON - Leone Jei (by Baltic VDL x Corland) and Martin Fuchs (Sui) finished in seventh place in the Grand Prix of Wellington (USA). Amalia VDL (by Arezzo VDL) and Daniel Coyle won the 1.35m level.
Hortsenia van de Leeuwerk (Corland x Argentinus) and Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane won a 1.50m class at the 4* jumping of Coapexpan, Mexico.

Goldenstar (Bacardi VDL x Ipsylon B) and Alex David Gill placed 2nd in the Grand Prix of the Roelofsen Horsetrucks Winter Classics competition in Exloo. The Grand Prix was won by Florian (Zirocco Blue x Cardento), ridden by Albert Zoer, Famariloma (Azteca VDL x Ahorn), ridden by Steven Veldhuis, ended up 4th.
In the 1.45m Roelofsen Horsetrucks Winter Classics Grand Prix took Alex Gill with our mare Goldenstar (Bacardi VDL x Ipsylon B) the 3rd place at Luttenberg. Cohinoor VDL (by Cornet Obelensky) became 5th in the 1.40m.
Dallas VDL finished in 5th place in the Oldenburg Grand Prix, halfbrother Grand Slam placed 7th in the final of the Medium Tour.
